What vehicles is the THRASHER Race Transmission suited for?
All 1997-2004 GM vehicles that can use the model 4T65E-HD are eligible for the Thrasher® Race Transmission.

THRASHER Standard Procedures
- Core transmission (yours or ours) is torn down & thoroughly inspected for flaws
- Torque converter is disassembled and inspected
- Any damaged or worn parts are replaced with new
- All channel plates are re sleeved
- All new seals and bushings are installed as the transmission is re-assembled
- Heavy duty THRASHER® clutch packs are installed in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears
- We install a new stock dual drive chain
- A THRASHER Shift-kit is installed at your preferred setting (Stage 1, 2, or 3)

What does the standard transmission cost?
The current retail price for the Thrasher® Race Transmission is $ 1,950.00*.
Why is there a core deposit?
We have decided to put a core deposit on the transmission due to the cost of the parts for a build. The core deposit of $1000.00 is 100% refundable as long as the core that the customer provides is in good usable condition. By this we mean that all internal components are intact and working and the case is in good condition with no cracks, broken parts or damaged in any other way. If a customer wishes to waive the core charge, they must provide a core for inspection before any build can take place. If the customer does not have a core, the core charge will be added to the total bill. The core deposit also covers the cost of “oh-by-the-way” parts, incase there is something in your core that is bad and not covered in the general build.

Thrasher Engineered Performance will install any of our race transmissions here, at our full-service speed shop in Burlington, Indiana; just north of Indianapolis. Call or email us and we will set up an appointment. Click here for directions.
If distance is a factor and we are not within your driving range, we can possibly recommend an installer within your area. THRASHER can also ship your transmission to you or your installer. (Shipping rates vary depending on method & distance). |
