THRASHER's Buick GSX

Here we are at Baker, California, the “Gateway to Death Valley” in front of their famous thermometer in Spring of 2000 where temperatures soar daily into the 115 degree range. “Bakers Grade” is a continuous 25 mile incline going from sea level up to 3000 feet in desert conditions. It is a popular testing grounds for all the manufacturers; subjecting vehicles to extreme weather conditions. As part of our R&D effort to provide products that are truly tested and proven, we subject our products to the same standards as the OEM.

This is our 97/98 Buick Regal GSX project car which we equipped with a 370 HP intercooled 3800 supercharged engine, our Stage 1 cam and ported heads. (NOTE: These were early development products using our prototype intercooler an prototype camshaft. This cam was a less aggressive grind than our production race cam.)

Over the years this GSX was our "development mule" for many projects that later evolved into tested and proven THRASHER products. The THRASHER high boost supercharger pulleys, cold air intake kits, intercooler, shift kit, transmission, torque converter, and final drive gears are all now part of our product line as well as exhaust headers and ported blower. This vehicle was also lowered 1.5 inches and utilized the prototype sway bars. Yes, this Buick stole the stage!
